This gorgeous couple married recently at Paoli Park in Madison. The day was perfect- not too hot, and filled with love! Rosie’s gorgeous hair and makeup was done by Nicole Nilson at Bang Salon in Madison, and gave her a beautiful 40’s look, and she wore it so well. Rosie’s dress was spectacular, and the back of her dress was beautiful, with lace and buttons – from “Always  a Bride
‘, in Grafton.  Jake wore a Ralph Lauren suit, with Levi’s and a tie from the
‘Tie Bar
‘. The energy of the day was relaxed and exciting. The girls got ready across the road at the Mill Park Gallery, while the guys were relaxing at Paoli Park waiting for the festivities to begin. Jake was very happy, the love of his life was going to say “I do”. There were flowers everywhere – on the tables and the bouquets were just gorgeous (by Grandmas Flowers).  The ceremony was beautiful as Rosie’s father gave her away. Bridesmaid, Justine Hansen sang a beautiful song for the couple, and was accompanied on guitar by Caleb Widmer, who was also the officiant.  Greta, the dog, ran down the aisle with the rings, when Jake called her at the appropriate time.  The ring by the way was designed by Jake, and made at the Jewelers Workshop, the most beautiful and unique wedding ring ever.  The setting by the water was exquisite, we even had a few people kayak by, quietly.

There was champagne, lemonade, iced tea and celebration all afternoon, with beautiful speeches from the maid of honor, Jessica Giffey, and the best man, Chris Brand (the grooms brother), with Rosies dad letting Jake know that he was now, the feather in his hat.  Rosie was so emotional from Jessica’s speech, that she had to hug her for a long time to be able to release the emotion, so that she could gather herself to sing to her new husband. Rosie surprised Jake by singing La Vie en Rose (translating to “Life in Rosey hues”), with some friends accompanying her from her job at Prairie Music Academy.

Hold me close and hold me fast
The magic spell you cast
This is la vie en rose
When you kiss me, heaven sighs
And though I close my eyes
I see la vie en rose
When you press me to your heart
I’m in a world apart
A world where roses bloom
*And when you speak, angels, sing from above
Everyday words seem
To turn into love songs
Give your heart and soul to me
And life will always be
La vie en rose,

Jake could not believe his eyes or ears as Rosie sang to him, he held Greta (their dog) in his arms as he listened. He absorbed every part of Rosie’s being.

It was such a delicious dinner, catered by the Paoli Bread and Brat Haus, and deserts were in these cute little jars, and the “cake” was a Pie (Strawberry Rhubarb). There were all kinds of flavors of ice cream were available for the guests at any time.
Guests were playing games and the kids were fishing, and then came the dancing! Everyone partied as the sun went down… We finished the night with the shoe game, where the couple sit back to back with one of their own shoes, and one of their partners shoes, then someone asks them a variety of questions about their life and likes and who is better at this or that, and such, and they have to answer the question by holding up the shoe – and we all get to see how much they agree, or disagree – its an hilarious game. Thanks to the lovely Krystal Lamberty for second shooting with me. Its always so much fun.

It was an absolutely beautiful wedding day and I wish Jake and Rosie all the very best in their lives together!
